• Hello,

We have been running a business website for the last few years and every so often, wordpress fails to load.

My biggest problems is I can’t see any logs or try and figure out why.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what we can use to track why the website might go down?

  • Could you provide more specific details on what you mean by “WordPress fails to load”? When this happens, is your site down, or are you unable to access the Dashboard, or something else?

Well over the past week we have been experiencing a sluggish site. (Another problem, no way to diagnose). We believe it is related to too many files on the server for something completely unrelated.

However, last night around midnight the website quit loading. When trying to access to the main site or the admin, the browser would just spin.

A reboot fixed the problem. However, there are no logs or anything to determine why this happened.

I’m glad it’s resolved. The next time this happens, you might try clearing your browser cache to see if that helps.

For your sluggish performance, you might try YSlow and see if that gives you any hints: https://yslow.org/

Well I wouldn’t say it was fully resolved.

We have been getting some 500 – Internal Server Error’s randomnly. And then they clear up.

The only way you’ll get this resolved is to talk to your hosting company and aks them to investigate, or send you the logs so you can look at them. Without any info it’s going to be impossible for anyone to give any sort of reliable ideas.
