WordPress problems – renew or start again

Hey Andrew,

You should keep your WordPress installation up to date at all times.

If you have not already updated to the latest version of WordPress, I would recommend updating your WordPress installation in addition to updating or changing the theme. (Current version is 4.0).

TIP: Make a backup of your website and database before updating! In case something goes wrong, you can revert back to the starting point and try again.

If you’re running WordPress 4.0, updating or changing the theme may be all you need to take care of those error messages. Hard to diagnose without seeing the errors for myself but give it a try.

Hi Kat,

Thanks for the input.
I always keep WP up to date (as well as plug ins) and am currently running WP 4.0. So that is not the issue. I believe that all the modifications made over the years has caused the problems…tho am not sure.

Hey Andrew!

In that case, there are a few things you can try.

If you are getting a particular error, you can try to disable plug ins one by one until the error is solved to check if a certian plug in is causing an issue. (Even updated plug ins can cause issues).

Otherwise, it probably does have to do with your theme.

Possibly, but not likely, there’s also a chance that it has something to do with the browsers used to access the site. You can/should also test to see if errors are only present in certain browsers.

If you want more help, you would need to post more specifically about the issues/errors that are coming up for you.
