    Hi there,

Following our discussions, I am switching from RankMath to the SEO Framework.

I’m testing this first on a staing site. So I used the transporter plugin, and migrated from Rank Math and then deactivated rankmath.

All my product pages, blog posts and other pages have this error showing:

    https://ibb.co/933zmD3

Each of the red blocks say that WordPress is taking precedence for the directives for the robots (At least, that’s how I translate it into english) and that WordPress is preventing indexation via its reading rules.

Is this normal since it’s a staging site (Where Search engine bots are discouranged from indexing ?

Or is there an issue ?

    Hello!

Yes, that’s normal for staging sites: These sites should not be indexed by search engines.

If you go to /wp-admin/options-reading.php and uncheck the “Search Engine Visibility” checkbox, the warning will go away. Maybe the translation is a bit unclear, and I’ll need to get that sorted.

I added the shouting warning because I found actual unsuspecting users having this checkbox enabled on their production websites. I’m considering suppressing the warning on development/staging sites so that the plugin’s visibility settings can be interpreted on those.
