wordpress posts not loading

  • Since yesterday my wordpress site posts fail to load. The home page is fine, as per the link. The dashboard is fine.

    I tried deactivating all plugins, but same issue.

    When clicking on a post, the pages try to load but never load.

    Sucuri scan suggests>
    ‘We identified that some of your WordPress core files were modified. That might indicate a hack or a broken file on your installation. If you are experiencing other malware issues, please use a Server Side Scanner.’

    Then spits out >

    800B 17 October 2020 5:54 am wp-admin/public.pem
    800B 17 October 2020 5:54 am wp-admin/public.txt

    But they were changed ages ago, so not likely them?

    Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

    If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.

    Thanks Steve, but should I not first confirm that the site is hacked and this is a malware issue?

    Both the remote virus scans say no malware detected.

    And presently, the pages are opening again fine. So the issue seems intermittent.
    I am confused.

    Should I replace those files that Sucuri found modified?

    The files that Sucuri said may be broken or been modified, were modified in October of last year. Not recently. Which was during install mainly, so I don’t think they would be like sleeper cells waiting to cause problems now?

    Not malware.

    So this doesnt seem to be a malware issue, any other ideas?

    Can anyone assist with this???

    Pages not loading, no malware found, problem is somewhat intermittent…generally the pages just wait and wait, its for the posts.
