WordPress “Pings” everytime you edit?

Hello!
Is it true that WordPress pings your post way too many times because it pings every time you edit?
You need a plugin from Maxblogpress?
Why doesn’t WordPress just fix that? Oughta be simple.
AND, wouldn’t you thing those ping registries would know this and NOT ban WordPress blogs!
Is everyone being reasonable here?
