• Hi all WP users,
I migrated my website from shared host to VPS. Upon migration, I am having trouble with permissions.
Hardening WordPress page in Codex recommends files to be 644 and directories 755. However, with that permission, the files are not writable by the server (CentOS 6.4 with apache). Therefore I’m unable to delete/update or add new plugins from within dashboard.

If I change permission to 664 for file and 775 (i.e. give write permission to group), plugins are updated and modified.

Is it safe to run WP with these permissions on VPS?
I will appreciate if anyone will guide me on this matter.

    Thanks.
