• On Monday, this toolbar showed up on one of my WP sites running Divi to everyone.

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aj2pw0o0SoMqi4JMv2Yz46lC_BRJ5g?e=j1HVvb

When logged in I get the regular WP admin bar. When logged out, the site displays this bar to visitors and admins alike. I cleared everything I could clear, viewed in different browsers, and on differnt devices.

The only change I had made was updating Divi. Today, a second site started showing the same bar. None of the other 16 sites running Divi have this showing (yet).

I cannot get rid of it. I searched these forums and tried several fixes. I tried adding to functions.php, I tried disabling plugins, cache is cleared, pages are logged out, served cached pages to logged in users is off. I am at a complete loss here 1) where it came from and 2) how to make it go away.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Yes, I went to the Divi community first. I received the same suggesitons as here. Divi support blames WordPress (but they always blame caching or someone else and then suddenly release an update that magically fixes all the stuff that wasn’t their fault…but I digress).

I ran the sites in safe mode, no change. I switched to the 2023 Theme, no change. The bar also appears at https://www.whitinsvillechristian.org/

But none of my other sites.

I should also mention that one site is on Dreampress and the other is inMotion, so it’s not the hosting, either.

I don’t have a copy of DIVI to test it for myself since it’s a paid theme. What other plugins and/or other customizations do you have installed in common for these sites? Is DIVI the only thing that is used for both sites?

Some plugins like buddypress have an option to turn it on. Have you installed any new plugins recently. My guess is that it probably a plugin or theme option.

Well, no. As I mentioned above, I had not changed anything at all when this appeared. In fact, I was away on vacation, came back and was checking sites and found this pretty well by accident. I do not run BuddyPress.

To your other points, as I mentioned eariler to Lisa, I have tried deactivating all the plugins; I have tried Divi safemode; I tried php code snippet; I tried a plugin, and I changed to the default (2023) theme. Just two sites (of 16) are doing this. One is on Dreampress, the other is on inMotion. Of all my sites, there is one site out there on Bluehost, and the rest are on Dreampress. Yet, only these two sites are having this problem. So these things together rule out plugins, theme, and hosting environment. It really has to be some issue in WordPress.

It unlikely to be a WordPress problem considering there are close to 80 millions copies installed. Even if it only effect 2% of the sites had this issue. It would show up on 100’s of thousands of sites.

That is very true. However, having disabled every plugin and using the default 2023 theme didn’t solve the problem, nor did Safe mode (which disables plugins, custom code, and child themes). and neither of those solved the issue. So what would you suggest is left?

I have found discussion of this problem in the past with a few fixes, but none have worked for me. And no one ever really said what was causing it in the first place. But I am a little surprised I’m not seeing more people with this same issue; my installations and plugins are pretty plain vanilla for Divi sites.

omg I have the same issue suddenly pop up on several sites.

It could be something from The Events Calendar, Divi Events Calendar, Divi Mobile, Divi… I don’t know, but it’s so annoying. My clients want it gone and I can’t find who put it there.

Are you using WP PDF embedder? That was it. Rolled it back to 5.0.

I’m still not figured out why deactivating the plugins in the first place didn’t reveal this problem as a plug-in problem. I guess it must have been the cache, even though I had cleared it before and after the deactivation.

    o yes I am!

go to wp-pdf, login to your account then go to downloads, it gives you the option to download previous versions. I think it’s 5.0.2 the one you want. They are aware of the conflict and will be issuing an update they said

got it! thank you – fingers crossed this works

Thanx Jeff you saved me a lot of time ??
