• Has anyone as yet come up with a way to speed up wordpress with godaddy linux hosting? I have 4 sites hosted there and have never had a problem. Just added a wordpress blog https://www.pakstatus.com and it is unbearably slow. Even got warned by google that there was a problem. I see a lot of other people with the same complaints but cannot find a solution other than switch web hosts. I am ready to do that at this point! Godaddy support just tells me everything is fine and that it is a WordPress problem. I have tried different themes including just the basic one and they are all the same. Admin is so slow it sometimes just hangs. FTP is impossible! It can take hours to upload a small site with me having to retry time after time. Their own FTP site won’t even do more than 1 file at a time without hanging!

  • I’ve worked with a lot of different web hosts and GoDaddy is far and away the worst on all counts. I use SiteGround for almost all of my clients. For high-end sites, WP Engine or WordPress.com VIP is the way to go.

You can do some benchmarking here for load times: https://webwait.com/

If the web pages are loading slowly, it could be a result of your theme or plugin(s). Best thing to do is switch to Twenty Twelve and disable all plugins, then test.

The site didn’t seem to take very long to load on the homepage. If you’re experiencing problems via FTP, it could either be your ISP or a problem on GoDaddy’s end.

@amintaunsvi – sorry for your difficulties, but per the forum rules, we close threads on the topic of hosting –

Nothing personal, they just attract too much spam. If you want further help with ways to speed up your site (irregardless of hosting), please open a new thread. If it’s a host issue, the solution is to change hosts :(.
