• Hi,
For some reason when I try to upload a theme or some plugins (not all )
I get the following message, for instance:

    Destination folder already exists. /content/shard2/sites4/g/o/golf.ie/web/wp-content/themes/Avada/.
It should be uploading to: web/wp-content/themes/Avada
This part ‘/content/shard2/sites4/g/o/golf.ie/’ would be part of the servers core files (maybe not correct terminology) to which I do not have access. I am on a shared server and do not have access.

…actual path getting to the web/wp-content/themes/Avada place you want to go. Since the error says “Destination folder already exists”, have you looked at your Dashboard to be certain that theme is not already there?

    Hi Leejosepho,
    Thanks for your quick response.
I actually don’t know what has happened. It should load to ‘web/wp-content/themes’ but it is trying to load to ‘content/shard2/sites4 etc.,- to which I have no access.
The Theme is not in the ‘Themes’ folder on the server !. I can’t figure it !

You might try checking with your host to be certain things are set as they should be at the server, and also that you are able to connect directly to where you need to go. When I connect to my server account via FileZilla and SFTP, the extra part of the path your are seeing is how I get to “behind the curtain” from even farther back. In your case, and I could be quite wrong here, it looks to me like your /web/ folder is what I know as my /www/ folder, a mirror of some kind for public access from in front of the curtain, and my host has told me that is not where I should be while working on my site.

I’ll have to try that in the morning. It’s midnight here (GMT) and Tech Support is gone for the night. Many thanks for your help.

Access your all files using your file manager than ensure that there is directory already exists or not… i think there is definitely exist directory with same name.
