• I am having an intermittent issue where sometimes my blog redirects to the www. version of my website and at other times it does not. I first noticed this issue a few weeks ago and then it mysteriously started redirecting itself and it worked.

    My website is https://www.michael-myers.net

However, currently when you type in michael-myers.net, it does not redirect to the www address. It is my understanding after using the search on this forum, that wordpress is supposed to automatically take care of this and redirect the user to the address you set in the WP admin panel.

    Please help?

    Thank you.
    Derek

  • Your site shows the www part of your URL. You want it that way or without www?

If I manually type in “michael-myers.net” it does not add the www on the beginning of the address which is what I want/need to happen.

    Thanks for any help,
    Derek

If you manually type michael-myers.net your homepage opens up. That is your original URL. You changed it to the www version through permalinks settings. So, what happens is that your site opens with and without www. It is very good. You have to worry about it only if the bare URL (michael-myers.net) does not work.

Still, if you need the www to appear, go to your admin panel and check if you have included www in your site address. If not include it and click save.

The issue I see is that when you type it in without the www, the articles are not updated and I am missing my last 3 posts. When you have the www in there, you can see all the latest blog posts. Also, in some browsers the CSS works only when you have the “www” typed in. Isn’t there a way I can force it with the www?

You may also check with your domain’s DNS setting. Add, CNAME for www and your domain separately.
