• Hi Guys, I tried to set up a new blog yesterday, i chose siteground to host my website and then installed wordpress to set it up and customise it.

I chose the template OceanWP but wordpress wouldn’t let me edit the homepage, and when i clicked on the ‘Home’ button on the menu it would take me to the original template homepage to another woman’s website.

I then tried one of the original templates, the twenty nineteen one, but it only edited the University, travel, life and contact page and still left the homepage as it was.

I tried to reset my website, by installing the ‘WordPress reset’ plugin. However that removed everything but still left the homepage completely in tact? WordPress won’t let me edit/customize my website ‘jojoexploring.com’ only the pages that are not ‘home’. When i go to my website, there is no top bar with wordpress buttons except on the other pages.

I’m not sure what i have done wrong, but if anyone can help that would be amazing!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Go to /wp-admin/ -> Appearance -> Customizer, once you have ALREADY selected the theme you want.

Look through the tabs. There should be an option to use a “static” front page.
    Select that and save.

    It still doesn’t work.

When i select the theme i wanted, i changed it to have a static front page but it still doesn’t change my original website https://jojoexploring.com/

Wordpress only edits when i click one of the menu buttons and it takes me to this https://jojoexploring.com/category/travel/ which i can edit and customize but doesn’t link to my homepage.

I can’t edit my homepage whatsoever even when i go to https://jojoexploring.com/wp-admin. I’ve tried to delete it but its still there. What else can i do?
