    Hi,

I use WP beta testing plugin and this is what I get as a message, which I think should be rephrased.

    Kind Regards

That isn’t an error, it’s a notification that future updates of the Yoast SEO plugin won’t be compatible with WordPress versions prior to 5.3. What part of the message do you believe in the message should be rephrased?

I have used a nightly version. So technically the nightly version is the “latest” version as well.

There is a difference between having an older version than the current version and a newer version than the current version. A nightly version is currently the most recent version, a more recent version than the current stable version.

You have to rephrase the wording so that you require a current stable version and not an older or nightly version.

The wording sounded like I am using an older version while I was using the most recent version, a more recent version than the current version.

It has wrongly detected a nightly version as an older version while it is the opposite. You need to change the wording so it can cover the both sides – an outdated install and an unsupported more recent version than the current stable version.

I have provided enough information, I am not a geek and don’t have time for GutHub. Not a coder, I gave you enough information, if you want, create your ticket based on it.

    Hi,

We understand you are not familiar with Github. No worries. We thank you for suggesting a new feature for one of our plugins. We’re not working on it at the moment but we’ll create a feature request for this, for our developers to consider.

In the meantime, we suggest signing up for our newsletter as that is where we will announce product changes and updates. You can sign-up for it here https://yoast.com/newsletter/.

I am a consumer, not a geek. Geeks are the minority of your users. True for everything WordPress and this is also the cause of many issues. I have no time to waste on GitHub or newsletters.

It’s already reported on github – https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/13861. Possible workaround – Deactivate and activate the plugin (unverified, some people claimed this fixed the issue).

Issue already reported in Github. Closing this thread.
