wordpress network Installation subdomain and subdirectory

Hello,

Kindly help with my 2 issues, i have installed WP Network, I have two issues.

1) System did not provide may any option to make a selection between subdomain vs subdirectory, how to I force to use Subdirectory?

2) it looks like default selection is for SuboDomain, e.g. Sub1.domain.com. When i save new site there is no error. however when I click on https://www.Sub1.domain.com i get error site not found.

Could you please help? Also note this is a brand new site, I can delete and recreate again if needed. But I already did twice but same result.
