wordpress missing dashboard

  • Can anyone help. My dashboard is missing. The right hand side details.
    I’ve tried disabling plug-ins but this doesn’t work.

    The site is working from the front end.

    My searches so far have suggested plug-in problems.

  • Have you tried switching to the classic theme to make sure it’s not a theme issue?

    I have no access to the dashboard to change the theme. But I have changed the name of the theme by FTP to force it to use the twentyten theme. The same thing happens the front end works – the dashboard doesn’t.

    I have spent a while searching forums and am coming up with either…
    My site has been hacked.
    Or a file has become corrupt.

    I’ve found some of the answers quite difficult to follow.

    I tried downloading a new install of wp and replacing the wp-admin folder and wp-includes. But this gives me new errors.
    Am feeling quite stuck.
