WordPress miscounts number of categories

    I recently moved to a new host so had to import/export a database. i had some issues which i fixed, but now WordPress tells me i have 8 categories while i really have 7.

    is there a way for me to fix this? i tried looking in the database feels for a count of categories but couldnt find one.

    yeah its not that big of a deal but annoys me a little

  • What are you using to display that count of categories?

    Remember categories and tags share the same table so you can’t rely on a particular category ID to tell you how many categories exist.
