    Hello,
Untill your last update, hiding wordpress menu was working great. Since the update, I cannot hide anything from this menu. It simply does not work anymore.
Please provide us with a fix! Your plugin is really key for running our multi-author with multi-capabilities website. Right now our back end user experience is very poor with too many menu options for our authors / contributors.

    Best.

    Hi Laurent.
This should also works with this version, was a point to release this version.
But please update the settings, that it works much better with core functions.
Also the hint, the plugin supports now multiple roles, so that your users have more as one role, the plugin hide only items there active for hiding on each role, there added to the user.

    Hello,

Thx for your quick answer. I’m not quite sure what you mean by “updating” the settings.
I already clicked on one of the orange button “update options” in the adminimize option page (…/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=adminimize%2Fadminimize.php)
    Unfortunately this doesn’t change anything.

    Thx for your help

    Hi.
Yes, I mean this update of the settings.

Have you check, that you Users haven’t multiple roles, see link above?

    Hello.

Ok, I’m kind of making progress. To start with, I am not using the ‘multiple roles’ plugin .. but I think the issue comes from interaction with bbpress roles.
Indeed, you’re right, because my users have both “wordpress” roles and “bbpress” roles, this seems to create a problem with your plugin. I hadn’t noticed it before, but affecting a bbpress role to a user also affects a worpdress role. See this image, from my ‘all users’ tab.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/3s0lykmoof7t91j/roles.jpg?dl=0
I cannot simply ‘copy-paste’ the adminimize options for “wordpress author” in the column corresponding to bbpress “participant” … since this columns doesn’t exist in your plugin’s page. See the capture. Furthermore ‘bbpress role’ columns do not have checkboxes.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/0dr4o9rsnv10u3d/missing-columns.jpg?dl=0

It looks that few columns are missing.
Can’t you add an option to ignore users with multiple roles? Or provide better integration with Bbpress?

    Thanks!

I think my previous post is slightly too harsh! I deeeeeply appreciate your work, and I’m only a bit frustrated that this new update breaks the look and feel of my user (back) experience! Yet I understand that’s a problem with developing plugins.
    Simply hoping you’ll help out!

I have add a settings area to active the support for bbPress or/and multiple roles. On default is this inactive, old status before 1.10.0.

Please download the plugin version here, test it and give feedback.

See forward for feedback from testing.

    Hello,

Thx, it works great! Indeed, the default setting reverts the situation back to the previous version of the plugin. So for me, it fixes back the wordpress menu. Small notice: for the “author” users, the interface went from red to black. It’d be nice to reverse that too ??

    THANK you so much!

Now, to be entirely honest, I think there is still a bug (dating from previous version of your plugin). I think it might not affect all users of your plugin, but for me, there is a problem of “column” shifting. In the picture below,
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/0dr4o9rsnv10u3d/missing-columns.jpg?dl=0
The column “author” (auteur in french) actually corresponds to the “admin” role.
The column “contributor” (contributeur in french) actually corresponds to the “author” role.
And the column “editor” (éditeur in french) actually corresponds to the “contributor” role.
… I’ve never checked what the other columns correspond to (I guess there is a mess caused by bbpress). I’m sorry I cannot test further; my site is online and active, it’s hard for me to deactivate bbpress without causing a mess…

    Thx for your responsiveness!

    Cheers,

    Hi larnoult,
have you update the settings of Adminimize, you should also have the checkboxes on the new roles, not empty column?

@jubaz Thanks for testing and positive feedback.
