Hi there! I hope anyone can help me out! I have migrated to new server lately and when I tried to upload a photo in my post (for thumbnail) it throws me with this error mesage ““Name of image.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error Unable to create directory /home/NAME OF MY PREVIOUS HOSTING/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2010/08. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

I don;t know why the path still is the old one which of course would create an error because it is not accessible by now. I;ve tried to scrutinize the database entries and also with the php files of wordpress installation but I can;t figure it out. Does anyone have an idea on what’s going on with it? It’s been almost a month since I migrated servers. At first I thought the servers are still bubbling up so I gave it sometime to resolve but until now I can;t upload any media.

    Thanks in advance!

  • How did you do the migration? Was it a DB dump or did you use the import/export feature from WordPress?

Did you actually use the search in PHPMyAdmin to search for strings relating to your old hosting server?

Have you tried installing a clean copy of WordPress? Make sure you don’t delete or overwrite wp-config.php or your wp-conten folder.
