wordpress media is uploading in wrong folder

    Issue:
    I have a WordPress site. Suddenly I have noticed that when I am uploading my media files through media library add new option, those files are saving in “uploads/2016/02/” folder though it is November 2016.

    N.B.- But when I am creating posts or pages & adding media files, those files are saving in “uploads/2016/11/” folder, which is correct behavior. And media setting (Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders) is checked or enabled.

    I have checked the file & directory permissions are ok. I tried with disabling some media related plugin but nothing worked. Also renamed the 02 folder, but new 02 folder is created automatically.

    Does anybody have any ideas why media uploader using wrong backdated (February) folder?

    Something is selectively filtering the upload directory path. It doesn’t have to be a media related plugin. Any plugin might do this for some reason, or even your theme. To isolate the offender, deactivate all plugins and switch to a default twenty* theme. Confirm uploads go to the right place. Restore your theme and test again. Reactivate plugins one by one, testing after each. When the uploads go the wrong way again, the last module brought in is at fault. Take up the issue with the respective author.
