How can I change the upload path to a subdomain ?

In settings > misc I changed the 2nd field to the url path for my subdomain and when I upload a picture from the media upload I get the correct path and everything, but the picture still get stored in the default wordpress location.

Is there a way to really change the upload area to my new area ?
