WordPress Login Forwards After Fresh Install
-
I’m designing a website for a client who has had her website hacked in the past (different domain now but includes similar keywords). After installing the plugin, I realized it was interfering with the Bulletproof’s Security’s plugin code. Just to be safe I completely reinstalled WordPress.
There was nothing left in the HTML root directory that I could find. Perhaps the htaccess file was still in there? I’m not sure but even if it was I cannot see it now with the hidden files box check in my FTP program.
Funny thing, I don’t remember the WP admin URL and dashboard being redirected to the FBI Cyber Crime website, which I had chosen in the settings in the other installation. I don’t understand unless a hidden file was left over why it’s still forwarding to this address.
Have the hackers messed with it again, or is there some sort of file that was left behind somewhere on the server?
The main website displays: https://www.katmandumeditation.com.au/
But the login URL forwards: https://www.katmandumeditation.com.au/wp-admin/
I’ve also tried the URL where the plugin said to login but it no longer works.
Thanks.
