  • same with me maybe 2.8’s problem dam slow

Try deactivating all plugins and check to see if this resolves the problem. If it does, activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    Okey. I will try..

I created a new blog yesterday and I am having the same issue. I have two blogs installed on Go Daddy and the other is working fine… both are version 2.8.2. I suspect it has something to do with the database but I would love any suggestions.

    Same here, it’s terribly slow!

Nothing I’ve found can help this and am fed up with waiting for it ??

very slow for me too. The heading says resolved. Is it?

I can only get it to load successfully after about half dozen refreshes on my screen after getting ‘Service unavailable’ message.

It’s newly installed version 2.8.4 , using the same server / database as our support helpdesk which is running at its normal fast speed.

I have struggled – really struggled – just to get 3 posts done!

I think maybe it should be renamed HardPressed as thats what I am to get anything from it.

WP sites will run extremely slow if you have either GoDaddy or Network Solutions as your hosting. I speak from experience. I’m not a big fan of those 2 companies’ shared hosting service. They’re fine if you want to register your domain but get you shared hosting somewhere else. Any other place have much better shared hosting. And if they try to have you buy a dedicated server… don’t fall for it. No body need that just to run a blog.

Also try “PHP Speedy” plug-in to help speed up your site (Just Google it). Use “WP Super Cache” plug-in. And don’t forget to delete unnecessary plug-ins. Optimize your database as well.

My wordpress won’t even load half the time since that upgrade. Been like that for months now. Just hangs there constantly, other sites on my hosting are fine, none wordpress that is.
