I have discovered a conflict between WordPress and LiteSpeed on my website. If both are active then the button on the WordPress login screen doesn’t work. You can fill the username & password in, but nothing happens when you press the login button. If you disable Wordfence or LiteSpeed then when you press the button you can log into my website.

My hosting company have said the issue isn’t with Litespeed and I need to reconfigure Wordfence. I have tried everything I can think of but nothing works.

Hi @lilcreativedev, thanks for getting in touch.

There is some Litespeed-specific documentation on our site which is worth checking, although I’m not totally convinced things like noabort for scans are the cause for this kind of behavior: https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/system-requirements/litespeed/

I do feel the login button failing is more likely to be a plugin/Javascript conflict. To test for a plugin conflict occurring elsewhere, you could try running Wordfence with a default theme such as Twenty Twenty-One and all other plugins disabled. If you’re able to save changes with nothing else active, re-enable everything else one-by-one until the saving issue reoccurs. If you can’t get the page to work properly under any conditions, by all means take a look at your browser console and use a service like Snipboard to screenshot any red error messages you may be seeing there.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi,

Thanks so much for the heads up. I’ve finally found what was causing the issue.

Looking at the errors on the page I found the following Error: Invalid site key or not loaded in api.js – relating to the Google recapture.

As soon as I disabled recapture for login pages in Wordfence the login starting working again.

Thanks again – I’ve been trying to solve the issue for months!
