WordPress is inserting div tags

  • Hi everyone

    I have two clients running WordPress blogs. Both are experiencing the same problem. Occassionally when they add a post, their whole site is screwed up. When I look into the code, I can see that there are some stray <div> tags. Not matching pairs so it’s messing up my nice CSS themes.

    It’s not a biggy but it would be nice for my clients not to have to rely on my to clean up the code when this happens.

    The clients are under strict instructions not to copy and paste from Word. They’re both Mac users – I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. One is on 2.6.1 – the other is on 2.6.2. I know I should probably upgrade but I’m a big believer in ‘if it aint broke, don’t fix it’.

    It’s odd because when I was searching for an answer to this, I saw lots of posts about WordPress removing div tags but none about it adding them.

    I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and if anyone’s found a fix.
