WordPress is blocking Bing Bot from my site

  • For some reason Bing is unable to crawl my wordpress site. I’ve edited the robot.txt to allow Bing, and just about everything else, but for some reason bing webmaster tools returns nothing but 403 errors (although it does seem to have successfully indexed the sitemap). Any idea what I’m doing wrong or how I can fix this issue? The site doesn’t show up in search results at all.

    I suppose it’s possible, but I really couldn’t tell you.

    A day after turning the security off I’m still getting the same errors:

    HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden
    Connection: close
    Date: Fri, 18 Jul 2014 18:16:28 GMT

    Server: Apache

    Go ahead and switch everything back on, I guess it’s not that.

    At this point, I recommend contacting your hosting provider and asking them if they’re running anything like mod_security that would block Bing, or at the very least if they would dig into this further for you.

    I just happen to me. I contacted the hosting provider and they said the problem would be in .htaccess. I apologize for my poor English.
