WordPress Integration with Sharepoint
-
I’m trying to get my organization to adopt WordPress for its internal communication, however, Sharepoint is pretty entrenched here. What I could use is a bridge between both. I love WordPress as the front-end communications management system but could see Sharepoint as the document storage system.
Is there a way to integrate the two? Can PHP and ASP systems work together or are they just apples and oranges?
If not, can WordPress add a document management aspect to future development plans?
We’ve been using Sharepoint to communicate as well as store/retrieve documents but it’s hard to get around its monotone layout and level of customization. The fact is we aren’t communicating and we can’t really find what we’re looking for.
WordPress is great. I’ve been using it personally for over a year. I’ve introduced it as a separate means of internal communication. It’s too early to tell, but results are promising. Nevertheless, my IT department is lukewarm about it. They don’t mind supporting its use on a small scale, but they are pretty set on Sharepoint as the platform.
Any advice on bridging this gap would be greatly appreciated.
