WordPress Installation Hangs on Step 2

I have been trying to install the latest WordPress on my local Windows Server. The famous 5-minute install keeps failing me. My installation hangs/fails at Step 2 (where it is supposed to show me the admin password).

I have no problems installing and running other “revival” blogging systems, which kind of tells me that my server is up and running correctly,
Hope someone can help, as I would love to try WordPress !
