I am having a problem with wordpress once it is installed and I am wondering if anyone knows how to fix it.

I install wordpress through fantastico using my hosts cpanel. After the installation is complete, I go to the site’s index page (site.com) Once the page loads I do not see the wordpress page, I see a page done in flash which says the hosts name.

I have always then contacted my host and they removed it and then this leads to another problem where it will show the wordpress page but it will take a while to load and do some flash detection thing and the URL will be this: https://site.com/detection.html/?refreshed

The host refuses to help me on this anymore. I was wondering does anyone know what to fix it so that the .com of the wordpress page comes up and doesn’t do that flash detection stuff.

Check and see if there is an index.html file in your site’s root directory. Some hosts put one in there as a default, and wordpress doesn’t remove it when
it’s being installed. If you see it there, delete or rename it to allow wordpress’ index.php to work, and see if it fixes the problem (but do not alter the index.php file).
