WordPress in Subdirectory

Hello,
my wordpress is installed in the subdirectory: https://www.example.com/dir/… when i activate the plugin the sitemap is located at https://www.example.com/dir/sitemap.xml the url to the generated sitemap gives me a 404 – file not found.
Is it possible to change the location to the sitemap?
