• I have a Wordpess site installed in a domain, which is hosted by Fasthosts, and the site runs fine.

I need another version of the website (a German translation) so I created a sub-domain and installed wordpress, with its own Mysql database. The site loaded fine, but as soon as I tried to apply permalinks the site fell over with a 500.52 rewrite error.

The error shows an issue with the web.config file:

    5: <rules>
        6: <rule name="wordpress" patternSyntax="Wildcard">
        7: <match url="*"/>

I’ve no idea how to proceed with fixing this issue.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.
