    I’m trying to move posts from one wp site to another wp site…All the tags showed up but no posts…Any help would be greatly appreciated…moving from a 3.0 site to a 3.1 site…

    I exported a small file to test and a larger file and used import plugin but not working…any help or ideas?

    First time this has ever happen to me…ugh.

  • Have you tried to make another export from the originating site and importing that to your new site?

    If that’s not working, either re-upload WP 3.0 files to server of original site, just might have corrupted files, then export XML. Going further, backup database and server files then upgrade same install to WP 3.1 then export XML

    I’ve tried 10 times and no luck…ive done this so many times this is why im going crazy…

    You mean you exported XML 10 times. Did you re-upload WP 3.0 files and/or try to upgrade the site to WP 3.1 as mentioned above?

    I don;t know how to reupload 3.0 to the original site and I can’t access upgrade to 3.1 because it will not allow access…

    Use FTP program like Filezilla or use cPanel etc.

    I can’t access upgrade to 3.1 because it will not allow access…

    Since you can export XML, I assume that you are the Site/Super Admin. So if you cannot upgrade, something is wrong with the installation. Have you tried to deactivate all plugins first and changing to default twentyten theme before upgrading site. Also good time to see if good XML export will finally work without the plugins.

    Tried deactivated plugins and trying default theme but still cant upgrade…i will try via FTP next..thanks
