WordPress import freezes

    I am importing a 3.2mb xml file into wordpress and the importer seems to freeze. I am not sure if I am being too impatient. It has been going for about 30 minutes and does not seem to have moved at all.

    How long should it take to import 3.2mb of xml data?

  • Could just be execution limits or PHP memory too low. You see some of the common WordPress errors for more info. 30 mins is definitely too long to wait. If you can re-export the data again, try limiting to just posts or pages, then import that see if it works.
