WordPress Import

    I am in need of assistance with importing my WordPress website files into a new WordPress. I am asking in this forum because I receive an error when trying to submit to WordPress support.

    I recently left my website managing company to manage my website by myself. They sent me my old website files in a .zip and I was told to just import them into the new WordPress site. I am trying to import the .zip files, however run into many issues. First, everywhere I look they recommend all-in-one migrating import to import, however you have to own the business version of WordPress and I only have the personal. Secondly, everywhere I look, I am told to upload the .xlm files into the WordPress importer. However there are only .php files in the .zip I received from the website managing company. I am lost and would very very very much appreciate some insight.

    Importing existing database into new WordPress?

    If so, what version of old WP into what version of new WP?

    Please keep in mind the database ( DB ) structure often changes between versions. The implication is that, for example, one cannot import a pre 6x database into a 6x install and expect it to work. You need to install your original version of WordPress, import your db dump and then start upgrading.
