wordpress images not displaying in the static site(template conversion))

I am trying to convert a template to a wordpress website,my site uses jquery and other javascripts.anyways i have already setup the header,footer and everything is working fine there. but i am trying to make a static website, and i am making a home page,but the content in that page ,does not display like it should! also no images are being displayed inside the page.i am creating this page using wordpress->pages->home and editing the html and placing according to my own template. can someone help me identify what is the problem with the site,i have it set up locally on my computer.
