    Hello,

In trying to add images to my wordpress site, it uploads the image to the server, but it shows a grey square rather than the actual image.

If I try to add the image to my post, it is a blank failed image load.

I verified through FTP, and the image is indeed uploaded.

This only started in the new year (Jan 2nd 2018). My last post on December 30th 2017 had successful image uploads added to that post.

Can anyone please assist me on resolving this issue? It really sucks to not be able to post anymore…

    Thank you.

Are the derivative images being created? Look in wp-content/uploads/whatever using FTP or your control panel’s file manager. If not, it could be that you’re out of file space (or out of space in /tmp). Ask your host about that.

    Are there any error messages?

    Hi, thanks for replying.

Yes, all image sizes are created. The files are there.

    There are no error messages.

    Thanks.

Update on issue, in trying to go to the image URL/path directly in the browser, I get a “403 Forbidden” error message:

    Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access /2018/01/Brain_power.jpg on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Can I resolve this issue, or does the host need to fix permission access on their end? WordPress can create the folder, upload image, but the images are not viewable by wordpress or a browser…

    Thank you.

I’d ask your host to look into it.

The host was the issue, somehow all the folders got 600 perms for 2018/01… so no one could access lol. Fixed now. Thanks for the assistance.
