    hey all

just wondering as I’ve noticed that the latest wordpress does not use the latest jquery version 3.x and instead uses 1.2 version
is this ideal to just use 1.2 or would it be better to force wordpress into the latest stable version of jquery?

I’ve noted why this happens and it seems like it’s something along the lines of backwards compatibility however I am worried about security issues with my website due to using an outdated version.

Any advice on what I should do?

    Thanks in advance!

WordPress, and all guideline-following plugins and themes, rely on the version of jQuery that WordPress ships with.

If security issues arise in jQuery, the bundled version of jQuery is updated accordingly.

    thanks for the quick response!
I see that basically I just need to leave the jquery version as is and that it’s not required to use the latest version
