An automated WordPress update has failed to complete

  • I update the WP software and plugins when I’m notified. In the last few weeks, I keep seeing this error message: An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.

    Although the latest version of WP is 4.9.8 and the plugins and themes are up-to-date, this message still remains.

    Need help!

    I suggest to go to your wordpress folder via FTP and delete the file .maintenance.
