WordPress hasn’t upgraded since migrating to a new host

I migrated to a new host inmotion from godaddy 2 years ago and my wordpress hasn’t since shown an update option. I tried manually updating it using FTP but even after replacing the wp-admin, includes and content , the dashboard still shows version 4.5.
I’ve read posts about sites migrated from godaddy having this issue.
Not sure what I can do. Please help.
