WordPress has destroyed a Web site

  • If you attempt to reach https://www.villamocenigo.com, the Web site of a hotel in Italy, you reach an Italian language page with instructions for installing WordPress. A few days ago everything was working fine. Is this the fault of whoever maintains the hotel’s Web site, or is it the fault of whoever updates the Italian version of WordPress, or is it something else? In any case, someone needs to be aware of it and fix it. The hotel loses business until it is corrected.

  • It is the fault of whoever maintains the website. Once WP is installed on their server nothing that the WP development team does can alter that installation. Either the person maintaining the site made some change or else the web host did something.

    more than likely the wp-config file has been altered or the database was cleared.
