  • Hello,

Yes it does look like the site has been corrupted one way or another, going to the route domain returns a 500 error.

Those two folders certainly sound highly suspicious and should probably go…

It can be quite involved to investigate and repair a site, depending on your experience generally, I’d start with a guide like this:

The summary is that you need to try and find and remove any suspicious files, you also might need to check some regular WP files, in my experience I’ve seen malicious code injected often into the wp.config.php file as well as various index.php files throughout WordPress.

As I said though, depends on your experience as to how easy it will be for you to spot these.

The other good option is to check your backups if you have them (and if you don’t you should definitely look into setting some up) and see if you have a pre-hack version. If you do you could restore this and make sure you have everything up to date and change all your passwords as suggested in the iThemes article.

If you do start looking into this yourself, do paste any specific examples of suspicious things here and people will be able to help.

@dominic_ks Thank you very much for immediate support. I will do now is restore my latest backup since i don’t have any experience in checking wp.config.php and index.php files and I’m scared if i changed the core files will cause another problem. Thank you for sharing me the link.

You’re welcome, good luck with the restore.
