• I’m using third-party themes and after activating the theme it comes up once or twice. After that, I just get a blank page. Has anyone else had this problem?

  • Sounds like the theme has problems.

That’s what I was thinking because it’s only doing it on the themes I downloaded. Not the “stock” themes. Would it help if I reinstalled an older version WP? Or are there any other solutions that anyone can think of?

I downloaded a few of the most recent updates themes and it’s still coming up blank after first activated. I don’t think it’s the theme anymore. Does anyone have ANY suggestions?

    Thanks!

Where are you downloading these themes from?

Sometimes themes and plugins don’t marry together and continue to perform as they should.

Deactivate all your plugins and then see how the theme behaves. If you still have the problem then the problem is within the theme. But if all’s ok start reactivating the plugins one by one while observing the site response. If there is an incompatibility of a particua plugin and the theme you’ll soon know.

Itpays to check for latest versions of both themes and plugins, plus never download from a third party unless they are authorised distributors.

I’ve downloaded themes from both www.remarpro.com and Themelab. They’re all doing the same thing. I’ll try the plug-ins and see if that helps. I’ll keep you posted either way. Thanks!!

I went as far as deleting all the plug-ins…same thing on all themes except the “WordPress Classic 1.5 by Dave Shea.”

Could I go back to an earlier version of WP?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Still having the problem. Any thoughts from anyone?? Getting a discouraged.

    Thanks.

I have the same problem with my site BetaTales.
The site looks OK from outside – but all of a sudden all admin pages are blank. I did not do any particular changes before it happened.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated – especially since I am not very technical myself.

@jondy – I can take a look at your site if you are willing to give access.
If so mail me at [email protected].

@sandvand – try uploading a new index.php to your wp-admin folder and see if it helps. Also check what version of php is running on your server. Other known issues are blank spaces at the top of wp-config.php and the wp-admin/includes/admin.php

    ZGani,
    Thanks!
The php version is 5.2.5 – is that OK?
Checked out the blank spaces – that’s not the problem.
How do I find the right index.php file to upload? I am using WordPress 2.7. Should I perhaps upgrad to 2.8 right away?

    I solved my problem.
I searched and followed the advice in one of the other forum threads covering this topic.
Basically I renamed the plugin folder – from “plugins” to “plugin”. That gave me my admin pages back – but it could not find any of the plugins. I then renamed back to “plugins” and everything was OK – except that I had to reactivate all the plugins.
I have no idea why this worked, though …
