Just updated to 4.1 an hour ago. There is no .maintenance file. Tried everything I could.

I have access to every page of my blog except the main page… I tried to disable plugins… No luck.

Any idea how to fix this major issue?

    Thanks

I finally found how to fix the issue by deleting my htaccess and then reupload it. I have no idea why. I have asked my host just in case.

You shouldn’t need to delete the .htacess

Sometimes the .maintenance file gets stuck and you have to delete that, but it’s pretty rare these days.

Your FTP client could also not be showing hidden files. If you are using filezilla go to Server > Force Showing Hidden Files.

This is most likely why you were not able to see file .maintenance

I know… Not sure what happened here. When deleting the htaccess, I got a message telling me that my host was using PHP 4.9 and 4.1 needs at least 5.2. Then I readded the htaccess and everything works…

WebStyley –> Nope I can assure you I checked the Force Showing Hidden Files. option. There was NO .maintenance. + the installation went smoothly. Absolutely no problem.

Only the main page of my blog wasn’t available. I looked on Google, several people seem to have the same issue and usually have to back up.
