WordPress Gallery – NOT WORKING

  • I am trying to put a gallery into my posts. In edit mode, I see the gallery image. However, when I preview the post, the gallery image does not appear but I do see [gallery] inserted into the post.

    What causes this as the gallery worked for me before. I have been struggling with this for weeks.

  • Could it be that a plugin is interfering with your gallery code? Try deactivating all of your plugins and see if the gallery works. If so then reactivate them one by one to find the culprit.

    It could also be because of changes in your theme. Try switching to the twenty eleven theme and see if it works. If it does, then this means that there’s something wrong with your theme.

    Nope it’s neither.

    I loaded the gallery and this is what appears when I view post.

    [gallery link="file" columns="1" orderby="title"]

    even though I see the gallery display in edit mode.

    may have something to do with adding html code, but then saving with the visual editor open.

    Is there anyway to override whatever has been done without losing my posts?

    If it’s what I suggested, yes. Just go back and save them with the html editor, not the visual editor.
    If you add code in the html editor, then save with the visual editor, the code will be dumped or rendered as text.
