WordPress Gallery displaying all images on a page

You have used wc gallery plugin which is not maintained recently and is not compatible with wordpress current version. Please refer below link and use any other gallery plugin which matches your requirement.

We’ve noticed what I think is a bug with the wordpress gallery…

… The expected behavior would be that if I click on a particular gallery from the front end, I would only see the selected images for that gallery in the lightbox,

This can’t be a WordPress bug, because even the “expected behavior” you describe simply doesn’t exist in a vanilla WordPress experience… because WordPress doesn’t have a lightbox feature at all.

So the “bug”, if it is indeed a bug (some will call it a “feature”) would be in whatever addon you’re using for the lightbox effect.

It seems the tool is fetching ALL the linked images on the page in the lightbox modal. You can test this out by creating a new test page with just one LINKED image: very likely you’ll only see this ONE linked image in the lightbox, and not all the images in your media gallery.
