WordPress gallery

  • Hi,

    How do I add images to a gallery I have already placed on a page (I’m using the in built WordPress gallery).

    The only option I can see is having to delete the gallery already already on the page and creating a new one, including the new images.

  • If you edit the page and click on the gallery outline, an icon should appear in the upper left of the outline to edit the gallery. If you click that icon, there should be an ‘Add to Gallery’ link at the left of the ‘Edit Gallery’ window.

    If you are using the gallery shortcode alone [gallery]then the images included in the gallery are only those attached to the page the gallery is on. This means that you uploaded them in the media manager and then attached them to the page or that you uploaded them in the WYSIWYG editor when editing said page.

    If you are wanting to pull in specific files, you can list the image ids in the gallery shortcode.

    [gallery ids="729,732,731,720"]

    You can also now add images that are not attached to a page or post as vtxyzzy mentioned above.
