• Hi,

I’m a little frustrated. I’ve changed the ftp permission on my header to make some edits, but wordpress editor doesn’t recognize it. Any ideas how to fix this?

    Thanks,

    Jen

  • Hi Jen,

What permissions do you have the file set to?

    As a general rule:
All directories should be 755 or 750.
All files should be 644 or 640.

You can also just use an FTP client & text editor to edit the files ??

I used 755 on the header in ftp. It won’t show up and give me the button to save changes in my wordpress editor.

I’m thinking it’s a wordpress problem by itself.

I am kind of afraid to update wordpress if it’s already not recognizing the ftp manager.

Try setting a file to 666 and see if that works.

I’d personally edit the files in a proper FTP editor so you can make a backup of the file first ??
