• I run a very busy site with a lot of traffic and a lot of activity. It still runs on WP but I was wondering if WP developers would consider taking owners of busy sites into an account when polishing up the code.

An example of a feature which would work on a small site but not on a large site is deletion of a user. When I choose to delete a user, I’m taken to a “Delete Users” page where two radio buttons are presented:

    Delete all posts and links.
Attribute all posts and links to:

The latter is a drop down menu. However because I have 200,000+ registered users, the menu is massive and paralyzes the server if I attempt to load this page.

Things got really bad with first 100,000 users. At 150,000 the feature was virtually unusable. At 200,000 it’s a “forget it”.

From one release to another I keep hoping the developers start taking into an account owners of larger sites too but since it’s not happening, I thought I’d bring it up. There are many further issues related to larger sites but bringing up more than one at a time is a guaranteed way to not get any addressed so I’m gonna restrict it to one only.

I think WP can do better than being doomed to a platform for no traffic sites. This is my contribution to making it otherwise. I’m hoping it will be considered.
