• Hi,

as soon as someone gets access to files of my wp-content (pdf files for example) the WordPress Favicon appears in the tab. Otherwise (in other pages) the normal site favicon shows up.

    How can i handle this?

Direct access of files is external to WP processes, so WP cannot influence the favicon for such access. I expect there is a favicon.ico file in your server’s public root folder that is composed of the WP logo. Change this file to be the icon of your choice and it should appear for direct file accesses.
