WordPress FAQ Manager not working in widget

I am using a Genesis theme with the Daniel child. I have looked at another site using Daniel that used WordPress FAQ Manager to create a nice accordion FAQ in the sidebar and I want to do something similar so I uploaded WordPress -FAQ-Manager. When I use the [faq] shortcode from WordPress FAQ Manager in the text widget in the sidebar, the questions and answers appear in the sidebar but they are expanded and not collapsed. The [faq] shortcode works if I place it in the content section. I tried the widgets that come with the plugin but they don’t work at all in the sidebar but work in the sidebar on the website I am trying to emulate. The settings are properly set for the faqs to expand/collapse. Any suggestions?
