I recently activated Wordfence Falcon Engine caching and now the responsive version shows garbage. It looks fine when viewing on a desktop. I am using Headway theme version 3.7.17. Google Mobile-Friendly test does not recognize it as HTML output. Pingdom test results in only 1 tiny file request and shows garbage characters. I’ve tried it on 2 iOS devices. I have also resported this to Headway. problem is on https://imaginecreative.com

Headway support suggested disabling its own cache and gzipping. That solved it. But now I see no speed improvements and still get errors about render-blocking js and css above the fold when I run PageSpeed Insights. Sigh.

Falcon utilizes gzip as part of its caching. If headway was doing it too then that was definitely the cause as the content.was getting gripped twice and your browser, like normal, un only unzipping it once.

Can you send me your URL so I can test? (Keep in mind we have limited support on weekends)

Thanks for replying. Site in question is imaginecreative.com. I’m trying it out on this site. If all goes well, I will implement on my client sites.

It looks good to me this morning (and loaded quickly!). If you want to use Headway’s caching, then only enable our basic caching, unless this causes trouble, which it shouldn’t. If you want to use Falcon caching, you have to turn off the features in Headway.

    Thanks
