• Hi all,

I’m considering using either wordpress or invision powerboards for a project concept I thought up, I like wordpress better in its overall “cleanness” but the ipboards seem to fit my concept better.

The concept would be a sort of marketplace, similar to ebay.

So what I would like to know is how flexible is wordpress? There are a view “must haves” on my list, and I was wondering if wordpress could offer a solution to these must haves. if the community could describe if the points bellow are availible on wordpress, I would be very greatfull.

    The list

    1. Handle a large community of (registered) members/users
    2. Have automated info attached to the accounts, such as:
    -account type
    -reputation (decided by other users)
    -other custom info.
    3. Registered users can make posts that include:
-required variables set by the users
-the users account profile including reputation etc.
-the ability to upload media and attachments which are placed in a separate area on the same page.
    4. Registered users can create comments that include:
-required variables set by the users
-the users account profile including reputation etc.
-the ability to upload media and attachments which are placed in a separate area on the same page.
    5. have a solid search function

This is a pretty old topic, but BuddyPress can do all that with a couple extension plugins. the rest is built into WP itself.
